BCPS Superintendent Joins Male Role Models to Inspire Young Readers
at Real Men Read Event

WHAT:
Broward County Public Schools hosts Real Men Read, an annual event designed to inspire a love of reading among young students by showcasing positive male role models. Special guest readers visit participating schools to engage with pre-K – 5th-grade students, reinforcing the importance of literacy and lifelong learning.

WHY:
Real Men Read provides students with meaningful opportunities to see community leaders and mentors model the value of reading. demonstrate the value of reading. The initiative supports early literacy development and underscores the impact of positive male role models in education.
The event is a collaborative effort among BCPS, Children’s Services Council of Broward County, United Way of Broward County, Broward County government, Broward Education Foundation, Early Learning Coalition of Broward County and HandsOn South Florida, as part of the Broward Reads and Campaign for Grade-Level Reading initiatives.
